Open a photo, screenshot or design export and click any pixel to read its exact color. The picker shows the value as HEX, RGB and HSL, each with a copy button. A zoomed loupe follows your pointer, so you can land on a single pixel of a thin line or small text. It opens JPEG, PNG, WebP and any other image format your browser can display, and the file never leaves your device.
With a keyboard, tab to the image and move one pixel at a time with the arrow keys (hold Shift to move 10), then press Enter to pick.
All three describe the same color. The orange in the Zaps logo is #FF922E, rgb(255, 146, 46) and hsl(29, 100%, 59%).
rgb(255 146 46 / 50%).The buttons under the values open the picked color in the color contrast checker as text on white, in the tint and shade generator, or on the color wheel to find colors that go with it. Open the image on this page, move your pointer to the spot you want, and click. The hex code appears in the panel next to the image with a copy button, along with the RGB and HSL values. The loupe marks the exact pixel in its center square, so you can pick thin lines and small details.
Yes. Take the screenshot, click anywhere on this page, and press Ctrl+V (⌘+V on a Mac). It opens without saving a file first. Screenshots are usually PNG files, which keep every pixel exact, so button, text and background colors come out clean, without the compression noise you get in JPEG photos.
Open this page on your phone and tap Upload image to choose a photo from your library or take a new one. Touch the image and the loupe appears above your finger, so you can see the pixel under it. Drag to adjust, then lift your finger to pick the color.
No. The picker reads the file with your browser and does all the work on your device, so nothing is sent to a server. You can use it on private screenshots and unreleased designs. Reloading or closing the tab clears the image and the colors you picked.
Photos rarely have one flat color anywhere. JPEG compression, shadows, camera noise and edges blended into the background all shift pixel values, so two clicks a few pixels apart can return different codes. Use the loupe to pick from the middle of a solid area, or sample a few spots and keep the one that looks right.
